Lime Putty - Ready Mixed Lime Putty Mortars & Mortars for Gauging
Matured lime putty with a minimum density of 1.35 KGs per litre. Matured at least 90 days. It is essential when ordering a lime putty based mortar to know what the density of the lime putty is, as this dictates the water content, and consequently the lime content of the putty, lime putty which is less dense than that stated above, will almost certainly have more water and less lime and therefore should have more putty added to make a complete mix.

* The final performance of the mortar is determined by the material used for gauging:
**Sands are natural occurring products. Variations in the grading and colour may occur from time to time. We will when necessary amend the amount of lime required to ensure that each mortar supplied by us is a complete mortar and has sufficient lime to fill the voids and coat all the sand grains. Sharp sand lime mortars are usually used in general building and pointing repair work, the choice of sand will determine the final colour of the joint. The method of application, protection, curing and joint finishing will have the most significant effect on the final look of the work. Best working practice is always to keep the mortar to a minimum by replacing the mortar with matching, or compatible pinning stones.
*** Crushed stone sand.
