One-Coat Renders

One Coat Renders (Just Add Water - Mix and Go)

St Astier one coat renders: Based on St Astier Natural Hydraulic Lime, these renders have been specifically designed and formulated to improve the speed of application and finishing. As well as the St Astier colour range, we can custom colour these renders to your requirements. The application of a pre-coloured render can allow substantial savings on the cost of painting and periodic maintenance. Although normally sprayed on, they can be trowel applied, but in two passes. If spray applied, they can be straightened immediately with a straight edge, with the desired finish possible within a few hours of application. All of these one coat renders are waterproofed but retain a high degree of breathability, good elasticity, low capillarity, water absorption and shrinkage

Application - External renders

Manual or sprayed, on dampened backgrounds, they are straightened immediately after with little effort and finished the same day (plastic floats, sponge, scraped finishes).

The application thickness varies, depending on the exposure area and the finish required as follows (see also Exterior finishes)

Exposed areas: minimum 15mm for floated or sponged finishes. 18-20mm for scratched finishes.

Moderate and light exposure areas: 10mm or 15mm for scratched finishes.

Interior Plasters

Plaster directly on bricks or blocks. When working on different joint surfaces use a mesh at the joints. Background preparation with Decofond or Prependuit might be necessary.

Products

MONOSTASTIER:
density 1650/1750 kg. x m3 Suitable for concrete blocks, bricks, boards (with PREPENDUIT primer), smooth surfaces (with SBR addition). Not suitable for light weight blocks.

THERMOCROMEX:
density 1450kg./m3 Suitable for all surfaces INCLUDING light weight blocks.

Intercromex
Ready mixed mortar for renders, stipple and main coats on cement background, concrete block, metal lath, and new brick.
Please note: Intercromex cannot be coloured. It can be painted or lime washed when fully cured. All of the other St Astier one coat renders are available in the St Astier colour range, or can be custom coloured to suit your requirements. See page 12 for details.
Do not work with these materials in temperatures below 5ºC or above 30ºC. Protect fresh mortar from rain, frost or strong drying winds. In hot weather, dampen the background adequately and cure the work by applying a light water mist several times for a period of 72 hours.
